Looking forward to Dewey's 24 hour Read-a-thon coming up on April 9th, 2011 at 8am. All signed up. Got a new laptop so I can update from the comfort of my living room sofa this year instead of cramped up at my computer desk.
Some of the books I will have on hand for the Read-a-thon are:
I Am Ozzy - Ozzy Osbourne
Glazed Murder - Jessica Beck
Dandelion Fire: Book 2 of the 100 Cupboards - N.D. Wilson
A Slice of Murder - Chris Cavender
Chili Con Corpses - J.B. Stanley
Agatha Raisin & the Haunted House - M.C. Beaton
The Secret - Beverly Lewis
Thinner - Stephen King
Shopaholic and Baby - Sophie Kinsella
Love, Lust & Faking It - Jenny McCarthy
Ruby's Diary - Ruby Gettinger
At least I will have a lot to choose from!

I've never done a Read-a-Thon but I'm doing Dewey's in April.
I could use advice on how to pick books, and snacks, and anything else! I'm excited!
Good luck with your first Read-a-Thon! My best advice is to have a large selection of books to choose from in case you get bored and make sure some of them are short, quick reads. I always order pizza as a treat and make sure I have lots of quick snacks on hand, too. I have a young daughter so I set her up with toys, books of her owns and videos so she can feel like she is participating with me. Hope you have fun!
